Taxi driver arrested for fraud in the Kempton Park area

On Thursday 27 March 2025 at 17:30, the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Overloads Unit Officers, arrested a male taxi driver aged thirty-seven (37) in the Kempton Park area. 

While conducting crime prevention on Pomona Road, Officers stopped a suspicious white Toyota Taxi, upon conducting inspection on the vehicle, they enquired on the temporary licence, which was produced by the driver. It came back as expired, including the professional drivers permit while the driver produced a valid fraudulent temporary license.  

The driver was immediately arrested and taken to Kempton Park Police Station, facing charges of fraud. He is expected to appear at the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court soon.
