N3 Toll Route | Traffic Alert | Traffic Congestion after truck crash

Saturday, 22 October 2022 @ 07:53 — A truck crash in the vicinity of the Peter Brown Interchange, near Town Hill in Pietermaritzburg is causing traffic congestion and delays on the N3 Toll Route. Both the south- and northbound carriageways are affected. 

Wet weather conditions in the area are further impacting traffic and recovery operations at the scene. 

Road users are warned to expect southbound traffic (towards Durban) to back-up beyond the Cedara Interchange towards Hilton. They are advised to reduce speed and approach the area with caution. 

Heavy traffic conditions are expected to continue until the scene has been cleared.

N3 Toll Route | Traffic Update | Saturday, 22 October 2022 @ 10:40 — Traffic congestion and delays continue to be experienced on the N3 Toll Route while recovery efforts are underway at the earlier truck crash scene near Peter Brown Interchange, in Pietermaritzburg. Southbound traffic (towards Durban) is currently backed-up beyond Midmar Dam.

Wet weather conditions are placing additional road safety risks on emergency services and road users.  

N3TC requests all drivers to prepare for further traffic disruptions by delaying their trips or by reducing speed on approach to the area. Remain vigilant and be extra cautious of stationary traffic ahead.
