ATNS Flight Plan Processing System fully restored
Air Traffic and Navigation Services (ATNS) SOC Ltd experienced a technical glitch in its Flight Plan Processing System this morning at around 06h00 SAST, resulting in delays in flights that were scheduled to depart from OR Tambo International Airport (ORTIA).
As per International Civil Aviation Organisation’s operating standards and procedures, ATNS processed and managed planned departures from ORTIA manually, until the system was fully restored at approximately 07h00 SAST.
ORTIA was the only airport impacted adversely by this incident, which is viewed in a very serious light.
An extensive, internal investigation is underway, to determine the cause as well as to prevent a recurrence of such and or similar incident.
